NSW Police say the state's coronavirus isolation rules will last for at least 90 days.

NSW Police say the state's coronavirus isolation rules will last for at least 90 days.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the slowdown in infections is pleasing but people can't afford to be complacent. "So, we know that we're having some level of success in reducing the spread. But we have to maintain our vigilance. We are at a very critical phase."

People were asking for lockdown so there you are you got what you asked for 😉

Lets see corrupt copper.

We as citizens are supposed to be PROTECTED Bad decisions by the country have made it worse an media scare momgering Yet we take the brunt of it and are locked down Lose our jobs/homes Lose our freedom/lifestyles Lose our businesses How much more are we expected to take?

That’s a .... big call.

If N95 masks are effective against the virus why can’t everyone be mandated to wear them. And then there is reason why we can’t socialise with friends. Some activities like walk in the park can be restored

What happened to the “committee”? Didn’t the govt set up a corona virus committee? Of medical experts? Why are we still hearing from ScoMo and now the Police Commissioner? Hearing this from him makes me feel like I’m in jail not a public health emergency lockdown!

“At least 90 days” is misleading, since it can be lifted earlier. The order will expire and have to be extended if they want to keep everyone stripped of their civil liberties in 90 days.

Good luck with that.

Not what he said. He said he will not be seeking an extension to the time limited powers the let him issue these fines to people. The extension can still be granted that’s out of his control, and he can at any moment request his employees stop fining people under that power.

90 days without being able to strip search minors... let’s see how they handle it

Fuck the Police

I don't understand how this statement ties in with others telling us the worst is yet to come

6 weeks time it'll be lifted.

Is this not a health dept rather than a police dept decision? Ja?

NSW Police = Health Professionals? coronavirusaustralia Lockdownaustralia

😱😩

SBS It was bound to happen...its either that..or total lockdown for 30 days...!

This is ridiculous. Have a 2 week curfew/lockdown/state of emergency what ever you want to call it. There is no way people will last 90 days. People can't even do that now after a few days

At least.

'An outbreak in backpackers': NSW to search for undetected COVID-19 cases in Sydney's eastNSW will more aggressively search for undetected cases of COVID-19 in Sydney's eastern suburbs amid fears backpackers in Bondi could be spreading the virus into the community Strict quarantine of hot spots and individuals is the only way to stop spreading of virus. For centuries humanity was saved from pandemics with strict quarantine of hot spots until vaccine developed, tested and distributed. The backpackers found to have attended the parties and visited the beach, ignoring the rules at the time, should be quarantined, forced to foot the hotel bill and sent back to their respective countries. I’m not sure that 2020 is the time for backpacking. Go home to family when they need you most and stay safe. World is a different place right now. GladysB We need to look after each other.

Tough coronavirus restrictions to last at least 90 days | Sky News AustraliaNSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller says he hopes the state will be able to lift its tough coronavirus restrictions in 90 days, as the state’s confirmed COVID-19 case toll rises to 2,298. \n\nAnother 116 coronavirus cases were confirmed on Thursday, with 43 patients in ICU - 20 of whom required ventilators. \n\nThere are now 3,557 people undertaking a 14-day quarantine in NSW hotel rooms, with another 500 travellers expected to return today.\n\nSpeaking with reporters about the restrictions, Mr Fuller said if a person receives a ticket for disobeying the distancing rules, the police chief would consider its fairness.\n\n'I’m reviewing all of these tickets personally, which would never happen again for any other time. And I’ll continue to do that,” he said.\n\n'There was a good question yesterday about when is the turn-off period for these orders. It is 90 days. People will have gotten the message by then, hopefully,' he said.\n\n'And we won’t be talking about the powers, we’ll be talking about what does it look like coming out of this.'\n\nImage: News Corp Australia Hopes? I heard him this morning say the powers were only good for 90 days and he WON'T be asking for an extension. I got the sense he really hates what his employees are being asked to do. 90 days? This is absolutely absurd. openaustralia
