Services helping women and children at risk of domestic and sexual violence will be given a funding boost in next week’s NSW budget. The program works in cooperation with NSW Police to remove a violent partner from the family home so women and children can stay safely where they live. This will take the number of magistrates in NSW to a record total of 149. The vast majority - 96 per cent - of all criminal cases in NSW are finalised in the Local Court, in 139 locations.said the investment in additional Local Court magistrates would deliver more efficient justice in both regional and metropolitan NSW.
