NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announces an easing of restrictions for Greater Sydney's 12 local government areas of concern from tomorrow.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced an easing of restrictions for Sydney's COVID hotspots from tomorrow after the state recorded 1,083 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths.

This will means no limit on the duration of outdoor exercise and recreation, outdoor gatherings of up to five fully vaccinated people within a person's LGA and the return of small weddings. "From tomorrow, very pleasingly, all areas of concern will be equalised … everything will be the same across Greater Sydney," Ms Berejiklian said.

On September 27, all public outdoor pools in NSW will reopen, provided councils have a COVID-safe plan approved by NSW Health. She acknowledged the anxiety from medical authorities, such as the Australian Medical Association , that more freedoms could lead to a surge of cases."This is the tension, there will always be people that think you are not strict enough and there will always be people that think you are too strict," she said.

You really should dig deeper on NSW. They are still fudging figures. 1083 cases but half no of tests...is not a good position. CaseyBriggs juliette_io

Why ease restrictions when the projection is October will put a strain on the health system.

Clearly none of them received the treatment. Have you seen this mentality before where doctors are screaming out loud that there do exist a treatment but government would rather let people die instead of trying it out? CraigKellyMP JasonWood_MP
