Australia's fertility rate has fallen to an all-time low despite a record number of babies being born

Figures compiled by the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday showed that through 2018 there were 315,417 births registered across the country. It was an increase of 1.9 per cent or 6000 births through the nation's maternity wards on 2017.

The last time Australia had such a high fertility rate was the final baby-filled year of the Gillard government in 2012. The fertility rate has fallen every year since.Australian Bureau of Statistics "Australian couples just aren't in the mood to generate a baby boom, and who can blame them?" she said.

WA registered the lowest birth rate I wonder why

White girls believe the feminist lies. They would rather work than breed .

the record number of babies is possibly due to new arrivals into the country who think it's right and proper to have 10 kids and find it amazing you can do that without a coin in your pocket.

No one can afford kids these days, rich immigrants are an easier solution for Governments.

Nothing to worry about, Mo's got the problem sorted

Isn't the number of babies being born the very definition of fertility? That headline makes absolutely no sense.

That's a good thing. The world is over populated.

Damn Gen Y...

‎The Signal: Summer's not what it used to be on Apple PodcastsWith fires up the east coast it feels like it's been summer for longer than two weeks. Daily news podcast TheSignal looks to the data to see how summers have changed & what we can expect in 20 years. Apple Podcasts: ABC Listen: Or you can check the facts yourself and discover that Spring bushfires are nothing new, even without a drought, but naturally TheirABC won't tell you that. A periodic solar event called a 'grand minimum' could overtake the sun perhaps as soon as 2020 & lasting through 2070, resulting in diminished magnetism, infrequent sunspots & less UV radiation reaching Earth, all bringing a cooler period to the planet that may span 50 years. Well it was snowing for the first few days in Victoria & Melbourne has only had two days above the 24.2C mean temp for December so far so I'm still waiting for summer to start. Here's a temp graphs from NOAA. Where's the drama?

You should be ignoring the fires by your own lack standards My friend is part Aboriginal and he says Feb. let's see who's right. I say after Christmas here. And the Bullshit flows, they can't even deliver accurate 5 day forecasts. Yet they happily predict no rain until May. Just more climate cult Bullshit, this country drips in it.
