Liberal backbencher and former diplomat Dave Sharma says it’s not appropriate to “immediate question” Gladys Lui's patriotism amid a growing controversy surrounding her links to China’s Communist Party.

She confirmed on Wednesday she was previously involved with three-China linked organisations, but said she is a "proud Australian, passionately committed to serving the people of Chisholm." Mr Sharma told Sky News Ms Lui is "not a foreign policy expert, and she doesn't claim to be, and I think she's cleared things up with her statement.

I heard Gladys Lui's speech writer is James Diaz

Careful of Slime-Bucket and BAR. He's not trying hard enough, It apprears he wants everyone else to rid him of this spy for him. auspol

ok then dave, what about dutton

OK sure. So, just to be sure I understand you clearly, *when* will it be appropriate to ask questions, Dave? Tomorow? Next week? Next month? After the media interest has abated, and we have all forgotten about it and moved on? * W H E N ? *

Why not?

Hahahaha yes it certainly is you clown

DaveSharma When do you ask the question then? Either you do it at the start or when you're forced to. By 'forced to' I mean, when something happens with the person or someone else presses the matter. Otherwise you're going off an arbitrary period of time which will be Never.

Comparing to Sam and the corrupt Labor party she a girl Scout

So we’ve waited a day. Is it ok with Dave if it’s ok to question Lui now?

That seat she holds should be investigated even the person running against her on the labor side should be investigated too 🤔 how much influence does the Chinese have in Australia politics.

Is it not appropriate when she blatantly lied?

Duped by a foreign power.

But it’s apparently ok to immediately question the sobriety of impoverished Newstart recipients by drug testing them. The LNP are such appalling hypocrites.

So I guess Dave is ok with foreign influence in the government. Good to know.

Just as Sharmas patriotism to the genocidal, apartheid , rogue state of Israel cant be questioned....

Don't question the Chinese government operative in our Parliament, because it's 'not appropriate'. How very LibNat of you.

Well not if you're seeking to cover them up I guess...classic Dave.

It's fully appropriate. That's the main concern.

It's probably best to read what the Lui controversy is about before concocting an excuse.

Why not? She is/was a member of two communist organisations but born in Hong King. LiberalAus LiberalVictoria JohnPesutto theheraldsun annikasmethurst 3AWNeilMitchell theage CroweDM abcmelbourne Raf_Epstein theboltreport TheIPA CraigKellyMP HonTonyAbbott auspol

She lies in both English and Mandarin and like the rest of her corrupt party, she does not serve Australia’s interest. OUT!

Fancy trying to protect this Liberal Party Chinese spy...ffs this government is a corrupt criminal treasonous disgrace

From the maggot who serves Israel before Australia

Dodgy election posters, cannot remember what committees she belongs to and then a dodgy explanation. I would be disgusted if she was my elected representative. Pathetic.

Who cares what Sharma says the woman is suspect because of what she has done not about her race if she was in the labor party oh now that would be huge and you despicable people would be all over it with your venom

Sort of agree: querying patriotism is embarrassing; & sort of drifting into Dr Johnson’s ‘patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel’

Finally we hear from Sharma, all that fuss about kicking out drkerrynphelps and this is the best he can come up with. Mazeltov Sharma - you made the wrong call again, oh and you probably chose to be in the wrong party too DaveSharma

Good cultural awareness, Sky — don’t even spell Liu correctly.

I'm sure samdastyari is sending thoughts and prayers.

GuangzhoGladys has to go.

Yeah right let’s give her time for the spin doctors to give her a bit of coaching ...NOT, attack and expose the duplicity and treasonous behaviour

FO

It’s being questioned because she’s dodgy, nothing more, nothing less.

I know Dave, lets put her on the National Security Committee to prove she is a loyal citizen, well go on!

This smells bad

why the hell not, she is under the same scrutiny as every other Politician

Well I think it is. Any suggested or suspected links to any interfering groups, whether inside Australia or abroad should be investigated. No matter what party you belong to, corruption or influence is never ok. That is the message that needs to be sent.

No. We must never question the loyalties of subversives. We are the clever country, right?

Why’s that? If she’s clean she won’t mind being exonerated!

Yep we should only question the patriotism of those on the left.

Fair go! Yes she has a lot to explain, but a Cantonese/Mandarin speaking Hong Kongese with English as 3rd or 4th language, a rookie pollie to boot, struggled with the language to explain herself adequately, under constant & intense interrogation by Bolt at his most merciless.

Yes it is!

Dave, that is a totally idiotic thing to say. Anyone can be questioned about loyalty and integrity at any time.

Remember when they applied this 'no questions' standard to sam D? Me either.

Dave has she renounced her Chinese citizenship? Did she get permission from China, Chinese Embassy in OZ, to say what she said today. Someone from the AFP, ASIO should check her emails and call log.

Does she hold a chinese passport as l think all MPs must give these up as one has to question their allegiance to Australia

'Not appropriate'? Yeah. That''ll work!🙄

If she can't say China is run by a dictatorship, then she must have family in china that she is worried about or china has the puppet strings on her.

So LiberalAus once again prove they are a party about power and corruption not principles, policy and helping Australians. What a surprise. No doubt Sky News will give them a free ride from scrutiny and make no comparison to Sam Dastyari

Australia is being Conned !!!LUI connot lie straight in Bed just sack her and send her home...

By it was ok for LNP to question samdastyari ? LNP are the biggest hypocrites in Australia. auspol MSM

So anti-chinese racism is all ok in today's Australia. And new McCarthism is arriving.

She needs to go, that interview showed us enough, she is loyal and scared of the CCP goodbye she cannot serve in parliament

So we shouldn't question someone sitting in parliament who may have allegiance to another government? The only thing the liberals do better than corruption is hypocrisy

She was only an honorary spy !!

What, better to wait till she's infultrated our national security and sent those to her oversea's contacts?

Shabbos Sharma. Another Juden parasite that has infiltrated Australian politics.

So being in the Coalition means being beyond reproach?

DaveSharma your PM Scott Morrison questioned Sam Dastyari's patriotism, so pot calling the kettle black methinks. Pity it's a one seat majority, so doing the right thing won't happen. GladysLiu only women of merit.

Not appropriate! So when does it happen Dave does the govt wait until the next election? What about her constituents they should know because they trusted the LNP candidate selection process!

Sharma could be your next PM if he is as convincing on other issues.

Sack her and call a by election now

Why not

No one wants their own back exposed. If he stands against Gladys someone's going to come after his Israeli links. Criminal protecting each other auspol

No not yet, we can extract more money and bribes out of them first.

O YES IT IS

Cool. How about later today then?

Why? Because you need her number! How about Australia 🇦🇺! Before individual self interests?

We do not need Chinese links in ANY Party in our country thanks

How convenient and Sharma is obviously consumed by guilt with his own links to the foreign government of Israel.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 How good is corruption? How good is foreign influence?
