Not a 'fit and proper person': Charles Waterstreet banned from practice | MWhitbourn

Mr Waterstreet, 70, declared bankruptcy in March last year after he was ordered by the NSW District Court to pay more than $420,000 to the Australian Taxation Office.to notify the Bar Association within seven days of an "automatic show-cause" event, which includes bankruptcy. He was also required to provide a written statement explaining why he considered himself a "fit and proper person" to continue holding a practising certificate.

The Bar Association found Mr Waterstreet had not shown in that statement that he was a fit and proper person to hold a practising certificate.is based on his own life, has been at the centre of a series of controversies in recent years including allegations of sexual harassment made against him by a number of female paralegals.Credit:
