Queensland is forecast to hit 80 per cent of the eligible population fully vaccinated by early December, but Mr Miles said Queenslanders did not want "Delta for Christmas."
He criticised Prime Minister Scott Morrison for giving people what he says is false hope about the state opening its borders in time for Christmas.Mr Miles said today Queensland has the fewest restrictions of all eastern states. Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Nick Coatsworth said it would be "a step backwards" if the state keeps its borders closed over Christmas, instead insisting fully vaccinated families should soon be allowed to move freely across Australia.
"Families who are fully-vaccinated, with vaccinated over 12s and unvaccinated under 12s, should not be prevented from crossing any state border this Christmas," Dr Coatsworth told Today."It is not 2020 anymore, it is 2021."Speaking on Today, federal minister David Littleproud accused Queensland Annastacia Palaszczuk of reneging on a National Cabinet deal on border openings.
Leave the children alone! There is absolutely no reason to vaccinate a 12 year old child. Suggesting that an ‘unvaccinated’ 12 year old would not be allowed into Queensland with their ‘vaccinated’ parents is outrageous. Children are not at risk to themselves or anyone else.

Yep. I reckon it’s reasonable if Qld waits till 90% double dose. It’s the more cautious approach but it’ll pay off. It won’t take much longer either - 90% double dose is expected on the 18th of Dec, 2 weeks after 80%. Some restrictions may remain like vaxx passports and testing
Who are the people that vote for such an idiot? Just focus on getting QLD vaccines and stick to the 80% agreement ..so many countries opened at lower vac rates and are now living with Covid why so tough to reunite the country!
