The Manly Daily, The Wentworth CourierThe company announced on Wednesday morning it would turn its 60 community newspaper mastheads to digital-only products and suspend print publication from April 9 due to rapid declines in advertising revenues.

zoesam93 ...and they won't be back. Once again COVID-19 is being used as a handy excuse to restructure/streamline businesses that are failing.

zoesam93 Perhaps these once proud rural mastheads, will be reborn in the future, resurfacing as true blue regional community newspapers, not governed by newscorpaus and filled with Rupert's rancid rhetoric! auspol newscorp COVID19Aus QandA theprojecttv

zoesam93 Just put my Courier in the recycle bin with the tongs I use for snail mail.

zoesam93 No great loss. The Manly Daily was once a terrific publication, now just a few pages of mostly irrelevant news and ads.

zoesam93 Where will the people turn to for their garbage dressed up as news? Sky's ratings are going to go through the roof!

zoesam93 I expect to hear of a few Billion going into their coffers from Our Scotty just to keep them afloat 🤣

zoesam93 Best news I’ve heard today

zoesam93 Finally some good news.

zoesam93 Being a great corporate citizen as usual

zoesam93 Propaganda shite won't be missed.

zoesam93 Had to happen. It is the digital age nowadays.

zoesam93 Devastated to lose the Manly Daily.. we would be prepared to buy it! Why can't they just introduce a fee?

zoesam93 Good

zoesam93 I doubt anyone read them. The only thing in them of any use was the advert page for tradies and that has been online for ages.

zoesam93 Now what are we going to wipe our ass on?

deniseshrivell zoesam93 May we never see those Murdoch rags again.

deniseshrivell zoesam93 That's a shame. Their circulation had skyrocketed during great toilet roll shortage of 2020.

zoesam93 YASSS

zoesam93 Surely the daily telegraph could take a holiday

political_alert zoesam93 Thank goodness we are no longer wasting paper regardless of the news provider or politics... this might still be a very positive catastrophe if that's possible. I feel like nursing homes are not a good idea no matter how you slice it... taking care of your elders may come back

zoesam93 Oh how sad for Newscorpse

zoesam93 A worrying sign for every person who works in newspapers.

zoesam93 Good news

zoesam93 What am I gonna line the budgie cage with then

zoesam93 I would personally like to thank them for removing unnecessary weekly wastage of resources and unrecyclable plastic from my doorstep. No loss there. The Wentworth Courier went straight from door step to the rubbish bin.

zoesam93

zoesam93 This is very bad for real estate agents

zoesam93 Best for the world if he suspends broadcasting Fox News. If that happened Trump wouldn’t know what to think.

zoesam93 Alternative Headline ~ Australian communities given reprieve from relentless propaganda. MurdochMedia

zoesam93 That’s gotta be a good thing. Now if only we could silence his TV commentators who spread dangerous disinformation.

zoesam93 Great, no more quotes from Mein Kampf
