A wildlife trust has found Wimmera reserves, in Victoria's west, is home to Australia's largest population of Eltham copper butterflies.

abc.net.au/news/largest-home-endangered-butterfly-in-wimmera/101868240A wildlife trust has found the Wimmera, in Victoria's west, is home to Australia's largest population of a tiny but critically endangered butterfly.A not-for-profit wildlife trust has found the Wimmera is home to Australia's largest population of a tiny, critically endangered butterfly

She says the butterflies are especially vulnerable to threats because they rely on a single plant for food and a single ant species for protection "Eltham copper butterfly numbers at the two very small known populations in the Wimmera were at much higher densities than in north central Victoria where we had been searching."

Besides Melbourne, they were also found in north central Victoria in 2001 but population numbers remained low because their habitats had become quite small because of urban subdivision and land clearing.

‘Zoomers’ want Sky News Australia ‘cancelled’ over Australia Day TikTokSky News host Paul Murray says “zoomers” appeared to hate Sky News Australia’s TikTok, slamming Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe’s Australia Day tweet, where she questioned who would be celebrating “invasion, murder and theft”. He said these people want Sky News Australia “cancelled”. “A website run by a bunch of middle-aged people pretending to be young, Pedestrian TV, decided to show the hate towards the one about Australia Day, in part because it was made by us here at Sky News,” he said. Becuase tik tok isn't your platform. You appeal to the older generation. Tik tok is for younger members of society, with totally different views to yours. Not sure why this is head scratching. You wouldn't like the place Paul, people are able to clap back at nonsense and the median age isn't 60 🙂 Low ratings don’t mean you’re cancelled. It’s just you put out a crap show.
