.mirandadevine: NZ is a land time forgot in a way. The troubles of the world are far away but poor people were slaughtered; what peace-loving people they were. They went to NZ to get as far from the troubles of their homeland as they could. MORE:

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has lashed out at Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for comments he made in the wake of the Christchurch terror attacks, describing them as 'highly insulting and highly reckless'.

The Turkish President, who is vying for reelection, warned that any visitors to the country with anti-Islamic views will be 'returned home in coffins like their grandfathers' from Gallipoli. Mr Morrison says the 'offensive remarks violate the pledge 'Atatürk made to our ANZACs'.

Morrison summons Turkish ambassador over Erdogan's 'offensive' commentsPrime Minister Scott Morrison has summoned the Turkish ambassador to Parliament after Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan threatened any visitors with anti-Muslim views would leave in coffins I personally don't have a problem with Muslims but these kind of extreme views I do have a problem with that's exactly what we don't want to hear especially after just what happened in Christchurch The tolerance of Islam when it’s in the majority Tayyip Erdogan is a dictator, lovely Turkish people are the victims of his repressive regime. Ignore Erdogan, world unity in grief is far more important this time than responding to outrage in tit-for-tat and eye-to-eye fashion. Calm down, take a deep breath, smile and move on.

'Disgusting': Morrison slams Senator's comments on Christchurch massacreScott Morrison has led a swift and strong repudiation of Queensland Senator Fraser Anning, who linked Muslim immigration to the terror attack carried out at two mosques in New Zealand by suspected far-right extremists. This is from smh/the age archive. Feel free to reference your own company's archived stories. The Age told us who Morrison really is in 2011. There's no point pretending Morrison is empathetic to Muslims when he clearly isn't, according to Fairfax's own archives. That's deceit Agree or disagree he has a right to an opinion, hasn't he. Should a senator that promotes hatred be subject to AFP attention and be made to answer via our judicial processes? auspol AusVotes2019
