More than half of all Afghans are facing an acute food crisis, the UN says

Women and children at a camp for internally displaced people in Kabul, Afghanistan, Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021.More than 22 million Afghans will suffer "acute food insecurity" this winter, UN agencies said Monday, warning the already unstable country faces one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.

"We are on a countdown to catastrophe and if we don't act now, we will have a total disaster on our hands." But the Taliban still face a range of international sanctions and a campaign of bloody attacks by rival hardliners, the self-proclaimed Islamic State, while climate change has made Afghanistan's droughts more frequent and intense.

I would like to thank SBS for their continued caring of the inhumane situation in Afghanistan - this is so terrible & the rest of the world just watches on. America, Australia, the UK and the other coalition countries are responsible for the deaths of the innocent Afghan people.
