Exclusive: NSW government spent more than $113 million on redundancies across 11 agencies in 2021 | LucyCormack

The state government spent more than $113 million on redundancies across 11 agencies last year, including $4.3 million in payouts triggered by the resignation of former premier Gladys Berejiklian.

The total $113 million cost of government agency redundancies last year reflected an increase of $6 million on 2020 figures.Credit:More than $17 million was handed to exiting bureaucrats from the Health ministry, while $1.2 million covered redundancies from Treasury and further $4.5 million went to staff of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Since 2019, she said savings initiatives totalling more than $9.2 billion to 2024-25 had been implemented, including reductions in senior executive and non-frontline employee expenses and the freeze on public sector wages growth in 2020-21. “NSW businesses are desperate for more skilled workers, but the premier is forking out tens of millions of dollars to shrink TAFE,” he said.

“TAFE NSW has a record budget of $1.97 billion and full-time equivalent teaching numbers have increased every year since 2016.“

LucyCormack Among the 29 $200K pa bureaucrats in the Premier's Office there does not seem to be single suitably qualified expert to advise Dom_Perrottet on oil & energy statistics and supply limits which will endanger investments in airports, road tunnels, apartment towers and skyscrapers

LucyCormack Does this number include pay-outs for Rodd Staples who is responsible for a totally unnecessary conversion of rail to metros? But who opposed the creation of TAHE?

LucyCormack In other words, there are far too many of them. If the NSW Govt is the largest employer in the entire Southern Hemisphere something is well and truly out of whack…

LucyCormack It would have been money well spent if they had paid themselves a redundancy...

LucyCormack Don’t worry NSW❗️Dommi’s got this❗️😉😉😉

LucyCormack just as well they are taking over the harbour tunnel
