Monster sharks have been caught on drumlines in Queensland, just outside the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

There have been 22 sharks, including an almost four-metre tiger shark, hooked since the state government abandoned its catch and kill program in September.

A federal court ruling banning the lethal drum line program saw the Queensland government remove 160 drumlines, with 83 since been installed surrounding the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. On Saturday, a free diver suffered an injured foot when he was bitten by a shark near Bundaberg. Image: DPI

Drumlines have never been proven to be effective in preventing shark attacks. More to the point they seem to be more to satisfy a certain bloodlust & to exact revenge upon sharks & teach sharks a lesson.

HECS-style system 'could help save farmers' | Sky News AustraliaAustralian economist and academic Bruce Chapman says “everybody wants to help people suffering through the appalling drought” but the Morrison Government must consider “policies that work”. \n\nMr Chapman, who devised the Higher Education Contribution Loan Scheme for student in Australia, called on the Morrison Government to implement a 'HECS-style' loan scheme to help drought-affected farmers.\n\n“The thing about the HECS-system, which is applied to university students... is that it's a debt that's defined by the capacity to pay,” Mr Chapman told Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n\n“So, in the future if you don't have the money, you don't have to pay,” he said. \n\n “When things recover, then you pay a bit more'. \n\nMr Chapman was critical of suggested government grants or loans with subsidised interest rates, as not being an effective method to help the nation’s struggling farmers. \n\n“The loan systems that the government was offering with interest rate subsidies still had the very unfortunate characteristic that they had to be paid in the future no matter what your circumstances were”. \n\nSky News Host Alan Jones has, in the past, made repeated calls for the Morrison Government to introduce a farmer's HECS-style arrangement. \n\nImage: Getty new dams for next drought maybe.. London Bridge terror attack 'was terrible but not surprising' | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says the recent London Bridge terror attack “was terrible but of course not surprising”. \n\nThe attack claimed the lives of two people, and the man who carried out the rampage, Usman Khan, who was a former prisoner convicted of plotting to bomb the London Stock Exchange, was shot dead by police. \n\n“This is what we have become inured to, Islamist terrorists deciding they have to kill innocent people as part of their hateful destiny,” Mr Kenny said. \n\nMr Kenny criticised the fact the attacker, “who was a known Islamic terrorist,” and “who had been convicted on terror offences” was allowed to be released from prison. \n\nUsman Khan had been free for almost a year, and was wearing an electronic tag, when he was shot dead by police.\n\n“He was released from prison and was in touch with authorities about rehabilitation and deradicalisation”. \n\n“The worry here is that deradicalisation programs don't work”. \n\nImage: Getty Not surprising at all there was very little casualties thanks to the UKs strong gun control laws.... And how many more are out and planning and running about getting ready for more attacks? Thousands, all planning from Mosques..
