Paul Virgona, a 46-year-old fruiterer and father from Croydon, was left dead on Saturday morning after he was sprayed with bullets while driving his car. Police believe multiple offenders followed him from his home and hunted him down on the freeway.

Investigators have pieced together the movements of a suspected hit team that left a father dead on a Melbourne freeway in the early hours of Saturday morning.

On Monday, investigators revealed almost two hours of movements through Melbourne's outer-eastern suburbs before police lost track of the suspects in a Bayswater park about 4am.It's believed multiple offenders followed Mr Virgona in a Mercedes sedan from his Croydon home as he drove to work, and hunted him down on the freeway.

The air wing, dog squad and critical incident response team scoured the area but failed to find the men.Detective Inspector Tim Day said police were still looking for a motive but investigators were considering whether his wholesale fruit and vegetable company was having issues with underworld figures."That is the first thing that goes through your mind.

"We keep that open mind and try and work through – as we call it – victimology to try to find a motive and work out why Paul was targeted."Police are calling on people in Melbourne's eastern suburbs to dig through their dashcam and CCTV footage, particularly around Bayswater Park between 3.15am and 4am Saturday.

The police searched Fawkner Park after a shooting and failed to find a gun that a child did, under the leaves. Maybe the police should get in the experts -kids - to play in the park and find the evidence.

fruit is a gamble - we all know that

Climate change dispute breaks out as Scott Morrison visits bushfire-hit areasDeputy PM Michael McCormack has dismissed Greens MP Adam Bandt's criticism that climate change inaction is linked to the deadly bushfires as 'comments coming from a little Melbourne apartment from a little individual with a little mind' Adam Bandt's comments are informed by scientific evidence. McCormack's comments don't even address the question and just attack the person on the other end of the conversation. How helpful is that from our DPM? Why do our pollies reject science? He can dismiss it as much as he likes the proof is in the pudding?

The restaurant industry is resisting more 'red tape' around food allergies. But for Barry Hickey, this seems like a poor excuse Why not just tags or stick-its ? Seems like a nightmare for those in Bizz when buying crockery to have to purchase 7 different colour schemes & have all on hand same time If you're that allergic ... it's terrible but really, just stay home for dinner. cieloyla Gee, it usta be that a fella could tell what he ordered...yep that looks like meatloaf, taters n gravy, and green beans, yep.
