Appearing humble is a key job requirement for any working royal, even though you live in a castle and your family has a vault stuffed with priceless jewels.
Consider the images of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, during her visits to Centrepoint, a homeless charity that helps young people. Personally, I find images of her looking concerned while chatting to teenagers and 20-somethings who can’t afford a roof over their heads while wearing $550,000 worth of diamonds and sapphires jarring.
Which brings us back to Meghan. Wearing something worth more money than many of the people of Nyanga would ever see in their lives would have undermined her message of caring. It would have been a conspicuous and grating reminder of the vast chasm of inequality between the royal pair and the people they were meeting. While it is unusual for members of the royal family to forgo their engagement rings , that doesn’t stop it from being the polite thing to do.
I love the Queen why break her rules not good it is a problem just to get people to like her. May she get inline.
I love the Queen please don't break the law rules, loyality to the crown
Duchess attention seeker
Oh for crying out loud, she didn't wear her engagement ring !! Are people supposed to fall at her feet now ? It was a planned stunt by her yank PR 'look at Me-again not wearing (gasp) her ring'. Nobody actually noticed when they greeted her, why would they, just for the press.
Really? The world doesn’t give two hoots about whether she wears her engagement ring or not.
