‘Massive change’ once state hits milestone

Case numbers in Victoria have experienced a drop as fully vaccinated residents enter their first weekend of freedom. The state reported 1935 new infections – a slight increase from Saturday’s 1750 cases – and sadly 11 deaths.

“In fact, we will add to the vaccinated economy by asking and mandating that all non-essential retail will have to be vaccinated as well, both to go in, and also to work on those settings.”“Some masks in some settings, principally indoors, where there is a greater risk, and the economy being open to you only if you have had to shots, only if you are fully vaccinated,” he said.

Masks will no longer be required outdoors, but will still need to be worn in indoor settings and Melbourne residents will also be allowed to travel to regional Victoria as well as interstate. “Outdoor seated and non- seated venues will include stadiums, zoos, tourism attractions, they will all be at one-person per two square metre limit, up to 5000 people, again, where staff and patrons are fully vaccinated,” Mr Foley said.

Called “Spread Freedom”, advertisements for the campaign will begin airing across the country from tonight.

sounds like we have just been booked into covid land for at a minimum 2 more years. so I'm guessing 2 shots then 4 boosters and 2 more winters in lockdown due to variants in the future. I hope I'm wrong tho.

I’m getting my first vax and I’ll then get my second... but I’d like to know why I have to “check in” to locations so the Government can track my movement. I have no problem with showing my phone to any security staff or cop etc, but I’ll be fvcked if I’m going to be tracked!!!

Suppose no tourist or business person will ever come to Melbourne voluntarily when the rest of the world will have no such restrictions. Dec 1 in NSW economy fully open to all.
