Man charged with murder of girl, 9, who disappeared in the Blue Mountains

A man has been charged with murder over the disappearance of a nine-year-old girl who went missing last week in the Blue Mountains.

The 32-year-old man was arrested at a unit in Surry Hills on Tuesday night, before he was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with murder.The nine-year-old was last seen on Thursday afternoon, about 20 kilometres north of Katoomba. She was reported missing last Friday, prompting a search involving more than one hundred police and emergency personnel including dog units, police helicopters and the SES.On Sunday, Chief Inspector Garry Sims said police had “grave concerns for her safety”.

On Monday, a NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the homicide squad had also been called in to assist local authorities. “A number of squads usually assist with these types of searches and homicide is just one of these,” a police spokeswoman said on Monday afternoon.

The man who reported Charlise Mutten missing from Mount Wilson 6 days ago, Justin Stein, has been charged with murder. Police confirmed that they found a body in a barrel that was located near the Colo River. The body has yet to be formally identified.

Was it the mum's fiance?

He should be imprisoned for life,and not released frpm prison until his death.
