The man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and causing death by dangerous driving.

A man has been charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash in the Barossa that left a woman dead.A Para Hills man was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crashEmergency services were called to the Northern Expressway, Ward Belt, after receiving reports of a collision just before 11:30pm last night.

Police allege a Holden Cruze was travelling north on the Northern Expressway when the driver collided with wire cabling on the median strip and lost control, causing the vehicle to spin. A Holden station wagon that was also travelling north on the expressway then swerved to avoid colliding with the Holden Cruze.Police say as the driver of the Holden Cruze stepped out of her vehicle after the crash, a Mitsubishi Triton drove past and allegedly crashed into the female driver.“There’s still road restrictions in the area," SA Police Senior Constable Matt Brown said.

“Traffic can still get through on the Northern Expressway near Gawler, but police are still on the scene for a little while longer.”The driver, a 21-year-old Para Hills man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of driving without due care.South Australia's road toll now sits at 51, compared to 45 at this time last year.
