Australia should engage in macroeconomic reform to the economy does not go into free fall due to the coronavirus crisis, according to stothehiro

Australia should engage in macroeconomic reform to the economy does not go into freefall due to the coronavirus crisis, according to Australia-Japan Research Centre’s Shiro Armstrong. The ASX has crashed on 10 per cent at the end of trading on Monday, which is the worst daily drop since the 1987 crash. The government is finalising a second round of coronavirus stimulus in a bid to stave off recession. That comes four days after the Coalition announced a $17.

6 billion stimulus package designed to help welfare recipients, the tourism sector and small businesses cope with the economic fallout from the disease. Mr Amrstrong said it’s important the government doesn’t try to force sectors to diversify their trade relationships with other countries, including China. He told Sky News the most important lesson from the coronavirus crisis is getting the “macroeconomics right”.

All travellers forced to self-isolate under tough new coronavirus restrictions | Sky News AustraliaPrime Minister Scott Morrison says all travellers arriving in Australia from this evening will be forced into a 14-day period of self-isolation to stop the spread of coronavirus. \n\nDelivering an update after the first meeting of the coronavirus National Cabinet, the prime minister said the measures would be adopted following an increase in community transmission of COVID-19. \n\nIn addition, all international cruise ships will no longer be allowed to dock at Australian ports. \n\n“This is very important, what we've seen in recent weeks, is more countries having issues with the virus and that means the source of some of those transmissions are coming from more and more countries,” Mr Morrison said. \n\nAuthorities have confirmed there are now 250 cases of coronavirus across Australia.\n\nThe prime minister said at this stage schools across the country will remain open.\n\nThe prime minister said Australians were “common sense people” and urged them to undertake social distancing measures to prevent the spread of the virus.\n\n“In recent weeks and months, we've seen some examples, not of that behaviour and that's regrettable but for the vast majority of Australians, they are commonsense people and we have to rely on their judgement as well. Great decision!.. good leadership!!.. Americans should be banned immediately. Healthcare service access is one of the worst in the world. Heading to epidemic. Be tougher!!!!!
