Byron Shire Council is threatening to revoke permission for Love Island to shoot in the region after a COVID case linked to another reality show.

Production has been made possible during lockdowns due to exemptions granted to the film and television industry, on the basis that they follow strict COVID Safe protocols. The junior crew member who tested positive flew from Sydney to Ballina on Saturday morning, spent several hours in the community on Saturday and drank with fellow crew members in a pub that evening before working on Sunday, on the very last day of production.

“I’ve lost all confidence in their ability to protect the community,” he said. “It shows these protections are still based on an honour system. I thought crew members were going to be limited to within the production, certainly not allowed to be going out and about.”

I think the Council should revoke the permit

A reality love show spreading Covid? The insanity of it

Gee damn...

Byron shire council is run by greens and antivaxers who have kept Vax 1st dose at 60% when nsw average is 83%. It should be sacked

No islands out at Federal.

I guess PaulineHansonOz will be supporting the rights of Love Island to shoot in Qld. The right to spread covid should not be restricted to construction workers in Melbourne.
