Police have reminded people headed to the snow to be careful on the slopes following two men being rescued in the Snowy Mountains.

Snow has been falling in the alpine regions and the state's Central Tablelands as an icy blast passes through.

"We've seen snow start to fall over the past week and we are susceptible to rapid changes in weather across the Snowy Mountains, so it's really important that people follow necessary precautions and keep friends, family and authorities aware of their intentions," he said.Surveys have found koalas in Kosciuszko National Park.

"These findings are important because of the area's elevation, which we hope will make the populations more resilient to climate change," he said. "This exciting news provides hope that Kosciuszko National Park may be a refuge for this iconic species."Former Hey Dad! actor Robert Hughes will soon learn if he will be released on parole.

He is serving a head sentence of 10 years and nine months. He first became eligible for parole in 2020.
