Western Australian Opposition Leader Zak Kirkup’s admission he will not win the upcoming state election has been labelled “just another smart political tactic” by Labor MP Patrick Gorman. Mr Gorman’s sensitivity for political games was alerted when the Opposition Leader was reported to say “I accept 2021 is not my time” to the media two weeks out from the election.
” However, Liberal MP Jason Falinski argued it was in fact the media who were turning Mr Kirkup’s words into a political tactic. “Politicians are human beings and from time to time they have emotions and those emotions get expressed to the media who then turn them into tactics”. “He’s got an alternative set of policies, an alternative vision for Western Australia that I think is far more attractive than the closed down one that has been expressed by the current premier of WA.
