Inquiry to be launched into spike in attacks on police officers | Sky News AustraliaNSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller says the Police Minister is considering launching in inquiry into police assaults following a rise in attacks against officers. \n\nAuthorities recorded a spike in the number of assaults carried out against NSW police forces with 20 officers assaulted over a six-day period ending last week.\n\nMr Fuller told Sky News some of the injuries sustained by officers on the job are life lasting due to their physical and psychological nature. \n\nHe said officers who had been assaulted were often placed in a difficult position because their use of force was heavily scrutinised. \n\n“I think we need to come up with some sort of structure that gives some sense of fear in these criminals that are assaulting police that there are consequences,” he said. \n\n“We’re really looking closely at what sort of sentencing these type of people are getting and we’ll feed that information back to the Police Minister who is planning to hold an inquiry into it.\n\n“But we also need to get into the psyche of these people and what drives people to assault a police officer. \n\n“We just need to make sure we’ve got a handle on exactly what’s happening in some of our communities where in the past that we’ve seen people come to the rescue of police in difficult situations, where now we have people turning on police or spending their time filming the incident rather than calling 000.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia \n\n\n They should No inquiry needed. It's a result of the reprehensible reporting by the media of the BLM protests. Most outlets were happy to go along with the fuckthepolice narrative while bizarrely ignoring the actual in-your-face statistics plainly indicating the police AREN'T the problem. Police are there to enforce the laws. They don’t make the laws. They are not punching bags. If you are given an instruction by police obey it. They deserve to be treated with respect, the same respect we all like.

The main change I can see is that education and media will be overhauled.
