A former Aussie skipper has weighed in 👀 9WWOS AUSvIND

Legendary captain Mark Taylor is dumbfounded at the lack of imagination shown by Australia skipper Tim Paine in the fourth Test,The former opening batsman believes Paine takes strong plans into every day of every match, but he's been left mystified at his reluctance to search for a wicket in an unconventional way.

Of the 97 overs Australia bowled in the fourth innings of The Gabba Test, Lyon completed 31, Cummins 24, Hazlewood 22 and Starc 16. "He will look back and think, 'What could I have done differently in Brisbane and Sydney?' What he could have done differently was manufacturer the odd wicket," Taylor said.

Couldn't captain an affair on the Love Boat.

Totally agree with Tubby on this

💯 green is selected as an all rounder & sending down 3 overs in a day is absolutely ridiculous. The deck had a few demons in it & being 200cm he already gets that steep bounce off a good length where cracks were appearing.

Tim Paine is an awesome wicket keeper, amazing batsman & a hilariously funny entertaining player, but the captaincy should go back to Steve Smith. 9WWOS

Where’s Justin Langer in this?

His field placings left me baffled at times.

The batsmen aren’t giving him the runs on the board that might allow him to be more daring or courageous. Post 500+ in the 1st innings and you can have aggressive fields all day and the cameos from part timers to buy a wicket or two

Average player. Average captain. Less than average person!

Tubby is spot on. I was wondering the same thing this afternoon.

Who else is left? Can’t give it to cheaters. Maybe a bowler like Josh?

Captain bashing seems to be the norm but where were the other senior players to offer advise and support? It is a team game

Hmmm. Sadly Paine has reached ‘used by date’. Should be no option given to continue as captain.
