Thank God - move him to traffic control! 😡

It’s been really hard to deal with this in last few days, Having a public servant with many years of experience resign over saying something NOT POLITICLY CORRECT is a big loss for us,

Step down This scumbag needs to be sacked ASAP

To little to late, Just the fact he even had that thought after such a tragedy shows how out of touch & insensitive this detective is...

He’s an officer of the law. He shouldn’t be voicing his personal views in this situation or any other bc he’s got to remain impartial. Stating how the killer feels is a gross injustice to the victim or this case victims. How many of us women need to die at the hands of a man

We all know the result, but what was the equation? So now we want close minded people doing the detective work? When investigating no question or angle should be off the table until it's proven not to be valid, regardless of its popularity.

I don't think that was what he meant or what he believes, he was just trying to encourage anybody with knowledge of the situation to come forward as there may be people that care for the perpetrator but are less likely to come forward if they feel it will condemn him further.

Remember what Orwell said about thought crime... well it’s happening, man blaming and the bullshit discussions like this narrative are what push blokes over the edge and behave this way because there really is no way out Except in a box

Unfortunately no one knows the whole story and unfortunately we never will it's not this man's fault from having an opinion so back off people

Imagine what he saw?. He was def off his game. His points are valid but he's an investigater not a media PR guy. Bit of a beat up.

Ppl hate on social media, but the power of the ppl prevented this man from spewing his misogyny

Every investigator who has placed a matter before the Coroners Court knows that every possible scenario must be tested . The perpetrators’s family will have the right to representation and they could try to place circumstances before the coroner that lessens his criminality.

Yes it's a tragedy, heaven forbid if circumstances show 'underlying facts in relation to the situation' covering it up does not help anyone!

🐷

Initially it seemed that the detective's analysis was not victim blaming. There doesn't seem to be a sense of empathy towards the victims. It's not an unbiased analysis of the reasons for the crime.

Good. He’s disgusting.

The other issue is that he may not have been 'evil' or 'monstrous'. He may have been mentally ill. If so, this further marginalizes people who have such problems.

Our legal system is based on hearing both sides of the story. We'll never get to hear his. Most men would agree there will be more to this... We just dont say it loudly..

He has been serving the community for years & he said this was the worst thing he’d seen. So he was probably in shock as were most at the scene. His wording was terrible but he didn’t say that’s how he felt. So don’t crucify the bloke who’s made a horrible mistake with his words

Goodness me This was the evil act of a monster. But we need to understand why this man was such. I am sure this was the gist of what the detective meant Give the poor man a break

I got the impression he had never done an interview like this before, he seemed very upset & nervous, I'm not saying what he said was not awful, I'm suggesting that his brain was racing at the time, can you imagine what he saw in that car without him knowing exactly what happened

It is good to see all the experts are in the grandstand again today.

No Human being could ever speak like this

Good.

With anything if you don’t know know what happened you do have to have a open mind

As he should

The commissioner is weak as piss not to support her troops. Police are supposed to be unbiased and ask all people with information to come forward without fear of being judged. There are always two sides & police HAVE to hear both. (I’m not supporting Baxter, obviously)

Now the female spokesperson should go for her comment following this , quote 'Sorry for our open minded comment' !!!!

CancelCulture

No wonder we have crime the way it is!

Unfortunately working in this industry, we see all too often people who play the system against 1 another, it is a 2 way street for both parties. Was the dad frustrated by the system? yeh probably, but it is NO excuse for his terrible actions. Rip little ones!

He needs to be out of the force altogether.

I think this is awful. he handled every comment asked and if people bothered to watch the whole thing would see it wasn't a fly away comment. I feel for him...

Should have been more than asked to step down. Needs to be completely retrained on this.

All you people who automatically blame the men should ask yourselves just what has caused them to commit such a crime. Which I think was the point that officer was trying to make. Remember the problem can't be solved if people are close minded to all possible causes.

People need to grow the .... up !

Two studies have found that at least 40% of police officer families experience domestic violence, in contrast to 10% of families in the general population,' the National Center for Women & Policing says

The right decision. The mere suggestion that the wife has done something to cause this type of retribution is abhorrent. We have enough Bettina”s in the world to make those comments. Investigate, yes please.

Isn’t it his obligation to remain unbiased?

By stating how some in the community might judge the situation he's been labelled as endorsing one of those judgements. He should've dumbed down his comments for the fake outrage brigade.

Seems unjustified. Does anyone listen to a full police briefing anymore or just quickly grab a line and run with it for media purposes. Smh. This is why the battle is too hard to win.

Good!

Hmmm...with the position he holds he would have made those sentiments known internally as well This is PR there needs to be a cultural change inside that department...I mean come on he peddled the “perhaps pushed too far” which is man speak for it was her fault she made me do it

Asked? Not told! Weasel words again.

Their job is to investigate what happened, and figure out exactly what happened. Their job isn't to make statements condemning domestic violence and the perpetrator before the investigation is even complete. Let them just do their job, and investigate what happened.

Probably referring to a revolving door as some are ‘love him’ ‘hate him’ love him again and again. Etc etc. still this case should not be drawn on those issues.

FFS the mongrel BURNED HIS CHILDREN ALIVE.....no excuses, no words 😭

ASKED really Commissioner asked

A good outcome, but I do wonder if he was a bit nervous in front of a nationally televised press conference, and the mouth spat something out before the brain had caught up ?

Good job

New Zealand Warrior Rugby officials also haven't conderm this evil act caused by one of the former player Rowan Baxter. Are they for or against family violence?

ScottyFromMarketing have a good look and take in what leadership is about. Someone who definitely effed up in position was dealt with quickly and smartly.

🙄

As he should. Now we need to ask every constable that were supposed to protect this family. Times Up.. HOLD offices to account. They alone have the Power.

‘Rest in peace little angels’: Tributes flow for Camp Hill familyTributes are flowing for a “spectacular mother” and her “precious babies” after a horrific car fire in Brisbane that has shaken the community. Such a sad and horrible event. May they rest in peace. I truly feel sad tonight for hearing this news... It wasn’t a car fire- they were murdered! There would have been big-time signs about the ongoing domestic violence and it is time that Australians stop turning a blind eye and covering up incidents just because someone is perceived to have some status. Even the first reports really sugarcoated this tragedy.
