Labor Senator Kimberley Kitching says unlike her Victorian state colleague Jill Hennessy, she is not in favour of stripping controversial author and activist Bettina Arndt of her Order of Australia. TheKennyReport

Labor Senator Kimberley Kitching says unlike her Victorian state colleague Jill Hennessy, she is not in favour of stripping controversial author and activist Bettina Arndt of her Order of Australia. Attorney-General Jill Hennessy has written to Governor-General David Hurley asking the Council of the Order of Australia to rescind Ms Ardnt's award, arguing the social commentator has brought the accolade into "disrepute".

" However, she has been criticised in some quarters after she conducted a 17-minute interview with convicted rapist Nicolaas Bester, who abused a 15-year-old female student when he was a teacher in Hobart. In the video, Arndt called the victim "sexually provocative", however she denied she condoned Bester's actions. Ms Hennessy said Ms Arndt's conduct has diminished "the devastating experiences of victim-survivors of family and sexual violence".

Penny will have her over her knee asap you're a bad girl 🖐️

Good, labor MPs have to start showing common sense and distance themselves from politically correct ultra leftist bigotry that scare voters away.

Common sense prevails !! Thank God..🙂

Lol, phew that is good news.

So she's now an 'activist'. Wow it says something about the sad state of affairs that facts & what is just is made subservient to the promulgation of ideology. How can an individual who's exposed as a fraud hold onto an Order of Australia medal. It devalues the honour.

Why don’t Australians know how to spell labour? We don’t use American English here yet the Labor party seem to think we do.

You will be in trouble, this is not forgery this is going against the leftie thought police

Senator Kitching shows some courage here. Her explanation waters that down heavily though by dismissing Hennessy's letter as 'having a view'. It was clearly a political agenda driven protest using her privileged position to have Ardnt stripped of the award Call a spade a spade

Can’t believe Sky condoned this: Transcript AM Agenda SkyNews Australia 30/01/2020 “… even if Bridget McKenzie eventually does the right thing and takes a bottle of whiskey and the revolver into the room and, er, you know, practices her shooting on herself.”. . Sick just sick

Australians aren't in favour of politicising the award. Mate, she implied children choose to be abused because they have power to seduce the offender. That's not politics it's morality. And I'm 100% sure that the majority of Australia do NOT support children being molested.

At least still some common sense in ALP

Glad you guys at least had the foresight to not call her a psychologist anymore
