Labor’s decision to set a target of net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 is another example of a political party making a promise when they “don’t have a policy” according to Sky News host Chris Kenny

Deputy opposition leader Richard Marles told Sky News on Friday Labor doesn’t know the exact cost of the policy, but it will cost the economy more if politicians do not act to mitigate climate change. Mr Kenny said unlike what Labor is claiming, there is no cost to inaction, since “whatever we do will make no difference” when it comes to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.

LNP have no policy either...

Let's sum things up. 97% of CO2 is produced by nature, and according to latest GreensTheory, SuicideForThePlanet is the ONLY way the Planet can survive or we're all dead in 11 years anyway. So without humans, there's 3% less CO2, & it's that 3%that will kill us all? NUTS!!!

OMGTheMess and a 'Policy 'that not one of them currently in Labor , will be around to take responsibility for ,when it all turns to crap , or doesnt happen ! TYPICAL LIEBOR

It will allow us to transition our economy and influence other nations that need to reduce their emissions. As a medium power we influence on the world stage - free trade across the world, ensuring corporations pay tax, human trafficking, human rights - why not climate change

Zero carbon emissions? Are these clowns for real!! The plants will die. conjob fakenews 🤦🏻‍♂️

Policy on the run is and always has been Labor's way. They can never achieve this fictitious net-zero carbon dioxide target and they know it. AlboMP is just throwing anything against the wall to see what sticks. He is a flawed and weak opposition leader and will never be PM

But Greta said the world will end in 10 years.cwhat am i to believe now. OMG.

By 2050 every solar panel and wind turbine in the country will need to be replaced, possibly twice. A coal fired plant can choof away for 50 years or more. Nuclear possibly longer.

And people were saying LNP tax cuts were off in the never never

but why ? 2030 the world will be ended.. 2050 there will be no one left.

Chris Kenny talking

The government don’t have a policy. Are you going to shout that from the rooftops?

What Australia can look forward to Business that won’t exist in 2050 fuel station combustion engines. No coal mines. Maybe self drive cars so no speeding ticket. Hardly any cows, load shedding, tourist industry stuffed. Hi taxes to support the jobless. No industry at all. ECT

The idea of 'setting a target of net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050' is so that we DO develop a policy. You first need a target before you plot a path to get there. This is what the UK Tories have done.

Could always have a pork barrel policy I guess

None of them will be around to face the consequences...it's a vote grab nothing more or less!!

As usual skynews is FakeNews and bullshit! ZeroEmissions by 2050 is a viable target around the world. Except for LNP scottmorrison . They must be voted out of the way of progress.

Biased Bullshit.

It's an old trick - promise the world some years ahead, in this case, 30 years ahead. It satisfies the lean of intellect who think there is a climate crisis and then forget about it. The lean of intellect think it's wonderful. It's been done before by Labor. ClimateEmergency

That is the policy idiot. The method used to do it is irrelevant until the Federal Election in 2022. They obviously don't want to overtax Chris Kenny's last remaining brain cell

Labor and Albo welcome to the next 30 years in opposition led by the most pathetic inapt fool ever to be a Labor leader. With you version of Nancy Pelosi aka SenatorWong you will both dead before your party become the govt.

Anyone can talk. And ALP talk a lot... it costs nothing. And if it does - so what - governments don’t make any money so it will be the taxpayer’s children carrying the burden... and they are not born as yet so they cannot vote. We can but we are too PC aka hypocrite. auspol

NET ZERO emissions well done Australia's current plant life and oceans that surround us already have us ar zero or better Net! Another labor soft promise.

usual greenie Labor no costing promise

Follow the UK

The policy is called the greens policy. Today is the day the socialist labor abandoned its past and became the socialist greens party.

Can’t be serious right?

Labour do have a policy goal they just don’t have a strategy to achieve yet it. Goals always come before strategy.

Labor GroundhogDay

Labour have not recovered from the election loss. They still don’t understand that Australians want sensible policy and not policies driven by the left and minority parties.

Chris Kenny says a lot of shit though. You should give him a break, Sky. Let him go play with his dogs.

Did they not learn a thing from the election about not telling the public the cost of it. Just ask Bill.

Can Chris Kenny aka Prissy Chrissy tell us which policies the Coalition took to the election? Oh, that's right... Nothing, none, zero, Nada.... They bought the election & cheated... They were found guilty of Electoral Fraud! Facts matter..... 😡🤬

Enjoy the next 30 years of opposition.

Name what gas plants need to grow.

Full of Apologism for a corrupt LNP Grubberment 🤣🤣🤣Chris Kenny says...🤣🤣🤣

Umm,,,is this a joke?

They will still be in opposition in 2050.
