Shadow Agriculture Minister fitzhunter says Labor is dedicated to maintaining its commitment to Paris 'without doing any harm to the economy'.

Shadow Agriculture Minister Joel Fitzgibbon says Labor is dedicated to maintaining its commitment to Paris "without doing any harm to the economy". Mr Fitzgibbon told Sky News on Thursday the Coalition signed up to the agreement but Prime Minister Scott Morrison was not keeping his commitment.

“He claims he is on target but he avoids talking about Paris because emissions are rising year on year and have been for the last four years,” he said. “Labor needs to spend the next 18 months or so working out how other policies to reduce carbon emissions in the economy can be progressed… and we’ve got plenty of time, the commitment is there.” Image: News Corp Australia

MPs reject Boris Johnson's second demand for snap election | Sky News AustraliaMPs have once again rejected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's demand for a snap general election next month.\n\nIn late-night proceedings, the House of Commons voted by 293 to 46 in favour of the prime minister's motion calling for an early election on October 15.\n\nHowever, under law, Mr Johnson required the support of 434 MPs — two-thirds of all 650 — in order to send the country to the polls.\n\nHis failure to reach the threshold, due to the united efforts of opposition parties to thwart his request, means there will now be no general election before the United Kingdom's scheduled departure from the European Union on 31 October.\n\nUnder legislation passed by opposition MPs and Tory rebels last week, the prime minister will be compelled to request a further three-month delay to Brexit from the EU if he fails to strike a divorce deal with the bloc by October 19.\n\nMr Johnson has repeatedly promised the UK will leave the EU on Halloween — with or without a deal.\n\nParliament has been suspended for five weeks and will not return until October 14.\n\nImage: AP Just watching David Speers try and half ridicule Littleproud for questioning the socialist climate change movement. Once he’s at home at the ABC he will expose himself as the lefty he always was . Now that you have 5, weeks off Prime Minister, please see if you can order the return of Englishmen to the EPL. And Prosecute those who carried out their extermination from the EPL. BorisJohnson
