Labor used its time at the dispatch box to attack the government over revelations there were 136 emails between the Prime Minister’s Office and former sport minister Bridget McKenzie’s.

While emails from the PMO indicated “these are the [sport clubs] we think should be included…” the Audit-Office also found those clubs referred by the office were no more successful than those sent by a local MP.

When asked by Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said his office was not the decision-maker on the grants. What prime ministers have always done is support their judgement and colleagues because I know they know what is best for their communities,” he said. “The Leader of the Opposition may think, may think, you’re not allowed to consult with other members.”

Govt's budget surplus in doubt amid coronavirus fallout | Sky News AustraliaThe Federal Government is continuing to prepare the ground for its much-anticipated budget surplus to disappear following the coronavirus outbreak. \n\nThe government has been retreating from previous predictions that it would deliver a budget surplus in May with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg revealing the financial impact of the coronavirus would be worse than the bushfires.\n\nHe also argued no one could have predicted the virus would emerge when figures were being calculated last year, standing firm that no extreme fiscal measures would be taken. \n\n“The virus continues to evolve and depending on how long the travel restrictions are in place, and how the virus evolves globally will obviously impact that final number,” Mr Frydenberg told Sky News.\n\nThe coronavirus has spread across the European continent overnight with more countries recording their first cases. \n\nImage: Getty Imagine how Australia would surf through this calamity (fires then corona virus) under Labor &Greens leadership? In the best of times they're aming to destroy economy by introducing socialism, and have drag queens read to children 🙄 The budget surplus a) wasn't 'much anticipated'. b) was always bollox.
