Jetstar has cancelled nearly 50 of its scheduled domestic flights ahead of a 24-hour strike by ground and baggage staff on Wednesday. More than 250 workers will walk off the job at Sydney, Melbourne, Avalon, Brisbane, Cairns and Adelaide airports.

The Transport Workers' Union is demanding more rest breaks, more shifts offered to workers, and a four per cent annual wage increase. The airline has contacted passengers impacted by the cancellations but says no international flights will be affected.
