Comment: It's time we voluntarily get into the habit of wearing masks

The question on everyone’s lips is how do we defeat COVID-19? The answer is simple. We find a vaccine or we go into lockdown. A cure if it eventuates, will take time. Forcing people into lockdown will shut down our economy.

We are creatures of habit. When catching a bus, we tend to sit in the same seat. When we shave, we tend to start with the same side of the face, or the same leg. The interventions that we are required to adopt in COVID, require us to break a habit. Shaking hands replaced by elbow taps. Cash replaced with tap and pay.

For example, the jury is still out as to whether temperature checks are of any value. Any scientist will tell you that a high temperature reading does not necessarily mean that you have a fever, nor does it mean that you have COVID. But getting a device pointed at your forehead is a prompt that you are in a pandemic. It is a reminder that we are living in a new normal.Victoria has a number of complex issues on its plate. Arguably the biggest one is around compliance.

Now the media is pushing hard on forcing us to wear masks all for 13 cases of mostly mild flu in NSW. Once again all that’s required in stop interstate travel. Just another attempt to stamp out freedom of thought.

'I can't breathe' in a mask. Imagine making children sit at school all day breathing in carbon dioxide not breathing in full oxygen like a human is actually ment to do. The masks will also be bacteria ridden. Australia is just a complete fuckup and see clueless 'leadership'.

dont forget you can just as easily fold an origami mask out of paper if you are trying to cut down on the plastic pollution, takes 30 secs !!!
