Police are searching a charred Western Sydney property for clues following the deaths of two people in a large blaze.

Police are searching a charred home for clues following a large blaze that killed two people in their 70s early this morning.

Emergency services were called to Glendenning at 4:45am, finding the one-storey home well alight and the roof collapsed. They managed to pull a woman, 74, from the house. Paramedics performed CPR, but she could not be revived.Once the smoke had cleared, emergency workers also found the body of a man, aged 77."It's really sad to hear this news," one woman said.These nearby residents expressed shock about the fatalities.Fire and Rescue Superintendent Adam Dewberry said crews arrived to find "heavy fire" engulfing the house.

"Unfortunately, the person that was rescued by firefighters has not been able to be revived. Once the smoke and heat cleared in the property, firefighters found a second person. "The cause and origin of this fire is being investigated by police and fire investigators. It is a developing incident. It is a tragedy."The fire burned for hours.
