Sky News Political Editor aclennell says it is “very dangerous, politically” for Labor to be opposing the nuclear submarine deal.

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says it is “very dangerous, politically” for Labor to be opposing the nuclear submarine deal.

It comes as Labor has called for a Senate inquiry into Australia’s new nuclear-powered submarine deal with the United Kingdom and United States. “They are splintering on the left and Paul Keating is putting on pressure,” Mr Clennell told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “I guess they’re trying to show the caucus that they’re putting up a bit of a fight on it while still having to back it because that’s the popular thing to do.

“They wouldn’t want to go too far on this; on national security, it’s just best to stick with the government and try to win power, once you win power, you can review everything can’t you.”

aclennell What an absence of political or military acumen aclennell Hopefully Labor show some spinal fortitude and strap SLOMO to any submarine when the next conflict ‘needs’ Australia for economic gain.

aclennell You are right Andrew. But make this clear - Labor IS NOT OPPOSING AUKUS and the nuclear submarines.

aclennell I still remember when Clennell used to shout at Gladys: “why aren’t Victoria’s numbers going up”? Hahah. Good times.

aclennell What can you expect from the pro-China party?
