For the last few months, it’s felt like the Dyson Airwrap has been stalking me. On, I watched soon-to-be-winner Ekin-Su wrap thick sections of her hair around a curling barrel. And at a recent girls lunch, I was so transfixed by the bouncy hair of the friend sitting across from me, we hadn’t even been served our drinks before I demanded she tell me how she’d done her hair. My friend’s secret, the same as Ekin-Su’s, was the Dyson Airwrap multi-styler. I needed to know more.

Two curling barrels – one thick and one thin – that can create classic or beachy waves, depending on how you use it. When using the Airwap, most people “rough dry” their hair to around 80 per cent using the dryer attachment, then style it how they’d like using others. My go-to routine involves drying, before using the soft brush attachment to add volume at my roots, then drying my mid-lengths and ends with a curling barrel, leaving soft waves. Thankfully, it’s easy to switch attachments – they all click easily on and off – so it’s not as cumbersome as it sounds.
