CEO and founder Austyn Campbell, 38, who set up the company Motion One less than a year ago, inked the massive deal with the Morrison Government to supply $26,290,000.00 in “medical supplies” this month.
She’s one of a small group of sponsors or importers approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration to import the tests, who are now making huge deals. Ms Campbell recently spearheaded a plan to bring US brand Bala’s wrist and ankle weights into the Australian market. Picture: Bala/ Instagram Such was the urgent need for the Morrison Government to secure the rapid tests in January that there was no open tender process for the $26 million contract with Motion One.
The post drew an enthusiastic response with dozens of comments. Just 18 days after that Facebook post offering to sell tests for $12.50 a pop, the Austender website published details of Motion One’s new $26 million contract with the Health Department. It’s principal place of business is a modest 2 bedroom apartment in Elizabeth Bay. However, real estate data records reveal the property is not owned by Motion One.

MSMWatchdog2013
Why do the Govt require intermediaries (sponsors) to secure medical equipment? Tiggy Forrest and PPE. Multiple sponsors for RATs? Why can't the Govt negotiate directly with suppliers? More time and $$ spent on admin. In case of RATs, paying higher rate per unit to sponsors.
No tender? Lives in Potts point? This government doesn't even bother hiding it's corruption anymore. Instead of sourcing them it just let's faux companies take tax payers money. This is economic mismanagement.
Not surprised, the prices they are gouging!
Read their story, great to hear that good ideas knowledge hard work can pay off, with a little risk no doubt.
