A grandmother has been filmed scaling nine floors down the outside of a high-rise building as residents watched in shock.

The incredible footage was filmed yesterday by worried residents in the city of Chengdu, capital of China’s Sichuan Province,After discovering she had been locked inside by her family, the woman opened a window and began climbing down the side of the flats — using the building’s aircondition housing as a ladder.

The clip shows a crowd of concerned neighbours watching as the elderly woman slowly makes her way down by stepping on the metal ventilation covers for the aircon units.
