Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner (fanniebay) will release a report from the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) which found Speaker Kezia Purick committed a “serious breach of public trust”.

Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner will release a report from the Independent Commission Against Corruption which found Speaker Kezia Purick committed a “serious breach of public trust”. “In June last year the ICAC received a complaint from the Member for Blain and the Member for Araluen alleging misconduct and anti democratic activities by the speaker,” Mr Gunner said.

“This related to a possible attempt by the members to establish a new political party in the Northern Territory called the Northern Australia Party. “Following their complaint the ICAC commenced an investigation. “This is not a finding that an offence has been committed, that would be a matter for the Director of Public Prosecutions.” Mr Gunner emphasised he would make no comment on the findings of the report. The report will be tabled in parliament on Tuesday.

Sad that this happens, good that the ICAC got involved. Would love to see a Federal ICAC with greater powers happen sometime. Pretty sure lots of taxpayers have been asking for one for ages. Who would’ve thought a corrupt politician🤔 Damn you ABC. Why don't you expose the criminal acts of the Gunner Gang that constitute 'misappropriation and misuse of public funds'? Best example is $15 mil to the racetrack and not the hospital...public does NOT benefit from such action.....Gunner is CORRUPT

Cyber attacks 'a form of bullying' designed to 'announce a presence' | Sky News AustraliaCyber Security Expert Richard Buckland says current cyber attacks are 'almost a form of bullying' arguing they do not seem as if they're designed to cause 'immediate disruption' but rather to 'announce their presence'.\n\n'It's certainly not that our security's good enough. If anything, these attacks are showing great gaping gaps in our security,' Mr Buckland said.\n\n'They're against things we've known about for a long time and the government's advised people to fix for a long time.\n\n'A lot of these attacks are just about gaining data. They're not about doing things, they're sort of setting up and getting ready to do things and announcing their capabilities to do things.'\n\nMr Buckland said the attacks are a 'good wake up call' for Australia arguing one day 'this won't be innocent but rather war'.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia\n\n China.
