'I want to leave and be with my husband': Uyghur woman responds to Chinese diplomat's comments

A Uyghur woman reportedly under house arrest has responded to comments made by a Chinese diplomat on Q+A that she and her Australian son preferred to live in China's autonomous region of Xinjiang instead of Australia.Ms Wumaier was pictured holding up a sign contradicting Mr Wang's claims on TwitterWang Xining — the deputy head of mission at Australia's Chinese embassy — told Q+A Nadila Wumaier and her son, Lutfy, had told the local government they did not want to leave the country.

"The girl with the son told the Government in Xinjiang she would not like to come to Australia," Mr Wang said.

I totally understand western’s concern about human rights in Xinjiang. As Xining said, what about the human rights of thousands of people killed by Uyghur before 2016? You may talk about sentencing the killer. Yes, but not enough in this special area. China choose an extra way.

Xining made a lot of mistakes: 1. Not calm enough. 2. You cannot keep accusing western media when you decided to come on a western media show. 3. Not prepared enough. Better to bring some evidence on hand to prove his opinion.
