'I'm not paying': private schools sue parents for not paying fees | HatAlexander

Private schools are suing parents for not paying their school fees and in some cases expelling students mid-term to staunch a mounting debt.

"But we get these almost litigious people on the other side, and they're in the minority, who just decide they're not going to pay," Dr Newcombe said. "Often they'll say, 'My child was badly treated,' or the results weren't what they expected. 'I'm not paying because she didn't get four Band 6s'." Trinity headmaster Tim Bowden said the school had learnt from the global crisis and council was intent on staying on top of its debts. Trinity, which charges nearly $35,000 for a year 12 student and a further $33,000 for boarders, offered a payment plan to parents who fell behind. If the debt continued to stack up, Mr Bowden asked parents to withdraw their sons from the school.

The drought had prompted schools to offer an unprecedented number of bursaries and hardship waivers to boarding students, he said.

HatAlexander Good! Sue the bitches! They can afford mercs and bmws but they can't afford private schools for their children!

HatAlexander Easy: Nationalise the schools.

HatAlexander The result of hard line lay people taking over from the dedicated religious. Happening all over the religious so called charitable sector. 'Money' and greed.

HatAlexander I'm surprised Scomo hasn't cut Newstart to pay for the poor upper class kids to learn Latin

HatAlexander Damn wanky private schools and parents.

HatAlexander It's like.......the reverse of the banks!!...

HatAlexander They are government funded, what is their bloody problem? A Catholic school in Melbourne received 200 million from Tax Payers & closed its doors.

HatAlexander :) I am thinking of delivering online private tutoring on a global scale harnessing the National Broadband Network. I might call it 'Guru Cool!' private tutoring.

HatAlexander If I knew they didn’t just boot your child out straight away I’d probably pay my fees a bit slower 😂 Strange “story”. Sign a contract to pay someone for a service, you have to pay or incur a debt, right?

GregBaum IMO Smith is doing more than enough to rehabilitate himself. [Unless you're the nasty sort of person who refuses to believe in the necessity for forgiveness. There's a LOT of that sort around these days. Rancid fake Puritans.] GregBaum Sick of it. Embarrassed to be retaining the ashes on the back of these performances. Warner....worst opener I’ve seen in a series.

The mortgage fine print you need to knowAustralians wanting to get ahead on their home loan repayments have been dealt a blow, with lenders significantly reducing the amount borrowers can pay on top of their regular instalments. What garbage. The basic features of both variable and fixed rates loans should be explained to consumers getting a home loan. If the person writing the loan is not providing this basic information then they are not doing their job.
