The number of paid working hours in NSW crashed to the lowest level since the latest outbreak began as lockdowns take a growing toll on the state’s economy.
The number of paid hours worked, which economists say provides the best measure of the effect of lockdowns, has plunged by 13 per cent in NSW since June and was lower in August than any time since the pandemic began. Nationally, there were more than 620,000 people working zero hours for economic or related reasons last month, an increase of almost 233,000 on July. This does not include people on annual leave.

NSW and Vic unite to streamline vaccine passport technologySeriously.
