Huawei has confirmed that it will launch its latest flagship phone — the Mate 30 Pro — in Australia this year, despite US sanctions meaning the device will not come with official access to Google services such as the Play Store, Maps or Gmail., the Mate 30 Pro is a showcase of big and powerful cutting edge hardware features, promising some of the best photography and battery life you can get on a phone.
The Chinese company also claims the 4500mAh battery is its biggest ever and will last more than two days, supporting 40W fast charging and 27W wireless charging. For comparison recent iPhones support 15W and 7.5W respectively. The Mate 30 Pro also comes with "the world's fastest wireless reverse charging," the company says, letting you lay other devices on top to transfer battery power.

What happens when children don't learn their mother tongueShyamla, who was born to a Tamil father and Fijian-Indian mother, was only taught English as a child. Now, she feels like she has been locked out of her culture. Nowadays you can easily pick up a travel dictionary or even just Google translate. This will let you learn enough of the language basics to survive wherever you go. I dunno... this report sounds like an oxymoron, nothing is barring her from embracing or acknowledging the other parts of her ancestry. She's an Australian, already speaks English & ought to learn an indigenous language of the land upon which she resides. Learn the way of this land, her home.

Australia should mimic US’ on-shore oil extraction: resources minister | Sky News AustraliaThere’s no “imminent” threat to national fuel reserves in the wake of the drone attacks on two Saudi Arabian oil processing facilities but Australia should be prospecting for on-shore options, Resources Minister Matt Canavan says.\n\nMr Canavan used the United States as an example of the benefits of on-shore exploration. \n\nHe said “10-15 years ago, the US was the largest importer of oil in the world; in the next few years they’re likely to be a net oil exporter for the first time in more than 50 years.”\n\n“That is all due to these amazing technological developments in extracting shale oil and shale gas.\n\n“Given what’s happened in the US, we should also be seeking to apply similar technologies here.”\n\nMr Canavan said Australia holds on average 40 days of fuel supplies. \n\nImage: Getty No. Aust buys inexpensive ready product from Asia's refineries which can buy from Timor, Iran, Venezuela, Yemen, Saudi etc... No point at all to damage Aust sensitive whale birthing grounds, seaweed areas, fish & dugong nurseries when oil is already available from elsewhere. Matt, the minister for the f$king obvious! We can all see the necessary! Just get it done! If only someone had the foresight to invest in electric vehicles... oh yeah you sabotaged that!

No home broadband for a year: the house the NBN forgotMartin Bugeja was told he'd have no home phone or broadband for almost a year after a map error resulted in his home being skipped during the NBN rollout. We used to fix these at Telstra in the continuity work space until NBN axed it. Took a week, two tops, to get an address created and a LOCID and PRI created and assigned. Poor form, NBN_Australia they're not the only ones that are still waiting for the nbn, Abbotsford is scheduled for June next year, in Coffs Harbour they've had fttp for at least 3 years now :)
