Australians are being urged to plan ahead for a possible coronavirus pandemic.

The Federal Government has activated its emergency response plan for dealing with a potential coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, Health Minister Greg Hunt also suggested cancelling large events such as AFL matches"as a last resort".But the government has only offered limited information on how Australians themselves can prepare for a possible pandemic.

"[And generally] avoid things that will damage your health, like smoking ... Because smoking damages your respiratory tracts and this is a respiratory virus."What can I do in the weeks ahead? "Just to make sure we've got a few things in a box, that we could mark 'pandemic stash', that will see us over for about two weeks just in case supplies are restricted or interrupted.""We may see all sorts of interruptions for different reasons, not because the pandemic is a horrifying, terrible thing, but because people get sick and may be sick for a few weeks and we may see shelves empty out because they're not being refreshed as often as possible.

Article: If a pandemic is declared... we'll just keep what we're doing now... it's just a label. Also article: Buy extra from the supermarkets just in case! strange mixed messages... Manipulate fear to encourage short term spending = economic defibrillator? Very clever 🤑

Let’s start a bit of panic shall we?

Put everything into cash and gold then buy plenty of groceries. It’s a lot worse than the PRC is letting on. This is made worse by de-arming the nation.

Yawwwnnn... bigger issues at hand than the flu... another scare tactic from ScottyFromMarketting... diabetes is bigger and more risk..

Be alert, be prepared!

Do not trust the data from Chinese Communist Party(or Chinese government)

I'm following our government's strategy and hoping it will go away.

23 cases out of 25 million? GregHuntMP would be better off acting on the real smoking pandemic by moving smokers over to vaping. Many thousands of victims in front of his eyes but who gives a shit? What a clown

All good - stocked up on gin and tonic

But as after first foreign contact with foreign white British citizens with foreign British diseases, from measles to STDs! Kaubo Does the plan involve travel bans to/from more than one country? Or do we just bring it in and then deal with it later? Kaubo This plan smacks of someone setting up ScottyfromMarketing to come riding to the rescue to prove what a capable leader he is. Cue ominous music, AIDS-like campaign (“Where’s the reaper costume?”) & statues of our craven leader being erected outside towns to ward off the virus.
