Yesterday was Australia's hottest ever day with an average of 40.9 degrees across the country. The next few days will bring even hotter temperatures and 'concerning wind conditions' that are likely to cause havoc on large, uncontrolled fires across NSW

The Bureau of Meteorology have said preliminary results suggest Tuesday was Australia's hottest ever day, with an average of 40.9 degrees across the country. The previous record was set on January 7, 2013, at 40.3 degrees.

"We're going to have a number of wind fronts escalating the fuel, the fires burning, and the potential to have spot fires and embers travelling very long distances," she said at a briefing at Rural Fire Service headquarters in Sydney.

Ms Berejiklian announced an extra $16 million in state-federal funding would be available to help recovery efforts in a further six local government areas affected by the fires, adding to the $48.25 million already committed by the NSW and Commonwealth governments to the bushfire disaster recovery. As part of the funding, farmers and small businesses in the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Singleton council areas will be able to access grants of $15,000.

NSW Police on Wednesday said they have taken action against 100 people - ranging from cautions to criminal charges, for bushfire related offences since August this year.

Well....

peter_donnelly I am so worried for the people, animals, and property.

Hoping everyone including my relatives are coping out there but thinking of the wildlife stuck in burning heat with no shelter or water. What a disaster.

FatherBob Thoughts & Prays

Wishing you strength but you've got to get rid of your climate change denying, coal obsessed government. They are destroying your country and your natural world. Kick them out.

ChrisGPackham Those fires are awful and that heat must be unbearable 🙁

ChrisGPackham It’s frightening, the majority of humans have become so far removed and nonchalant in regards of the natural world that they show surprise when we’re faced with the absolute power it has over us how much more will it take for it to sink in to those in denial?

Looks like the Industrial and Agricultural revolutions might not be the unalloyed beneficences they’ve been made out to be. By capitalists and their propagandists, largely.

Forgotten: Historic hot temperatures recorded with detail and care in Adelaide🤔Accident or Plan?

ontrary to popular belief nurtured by POOR MEDIA RESEARCH (Or Deliberate Global$Warm Mislead?🤔) Australia has enjoyed a decline in extreme temperatures since record-keeping began in the 1800s.

Australia’s Hottest Day on Record Ever – Deleted🤔

Bullshit and u know it

ChrisGPackham Is that the smell of bullshit in the air🤔🤔

ChrisGPackham

In January 1896 a savage blast like a furnace stretched across Australia from east to west and lasted for weeks. The death toll reached 437 people in the eastern states. Newspaper reports showed that in Bourke, the heat approached 48.9ºC on three days

ChrisGPackham And STILL the Aus government wants to dig for more coal .... shocking!!

Hottest ever day? our reasonably accurate records are only 200 years old. a blink in geological timeframes.

ChrisGPackham No jokes here. Sounds like a fucking emergency to me. It’s not even summer yet. What are y’all supposed to do? Dig caves? These man made acts of nature are no joke. We’re facing widespread eco collapse. Beds are burning. Underrated album, Diesel and Dust. Good luck Australia
