Tasmanian doctors are concerned vital components of the troubled Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment might not be in place for up to three decades.

Dr Davis said it was critical the time frames for the delivery of the development are announced, adding the delivery of stages two and three were urgent.

It made nine recommendations, including interim works"to address immediate priorities, support critical service expansion and maintain operational sustainability until future stages of the masterplan are delivered". They had argued K-block was an unsuitable location for the psychiatric ward and that the Intensive Care Unit was too far away from the helipad — with the AMA drawing similarities between the difficulties in transferring patients between Hobart hospital locations as to that experienced by the rescuers involved in the Thai cave rescue.

"We remain concerned about the immediate situation of overcrowding which does not to appear to have changed," Dr McArthur said.
