For 19 straight weekends, thousands of protestors have taken to the streets of Hong Kong, demanding greater independence from Beijing.

As the weeks drag on, some demonstrators resorted to more violent tactics and police have followed suit.

Rallies erupted in multiple locations with protestors blocking roads, spraying graffiti on pro-China businesses, smashing windows and erecting barricades. Police fired tear gas at protestors and made multiple arrests. Image: AP
