Victorian opposition leader Matthew Guy has backtracked on an embarrassing blunder about the state’s lockdown.

Speaking to reporters outside parliament on Wednesday, Mr Guy clarified that his party wanted the state’s strict curfew 9pm-5am to end in Melbourne not lockdown as per a statement previously released this morning.“I apologise if that’s incorrect, it should certainly be the curfew,” Mr Guy said.

Matthew Guy corrected an earlier Liberal-Nationals statement that called for the government to ‘end lockdown’. Picture: David Crosling/NCA NewsWire It comes after the Liberal Nationals released a statement on Wednesday morning slamming the Victorian Government over its road map out of lockdown.this Sunday, which would outline a plan for the state over September, October and November.“There will be a map that talks about what we are going to do for the rest of September, October and November. It will be subject to all sorts of things like how many people are in hospital,” Mr Andrews told reporters.
