Political Editor aclennell says lifting the travel ban on mainland China “would have a very positive effect on the Australian economy”.

Political Editor Andrew Clennell says lifting the travel ban on mainland China “would have a very positive effect on the Australian economy”. The travel ban was implemented on February 2, and allowed only Australian citizens to enter the country en route from China.

Mr Clennell told Sky News “in that period we have not seen an increase in coronavirus cases”. Due to government precautions in Wuhan, Chinese authorities are reporting “the disease has not spread anywhere near the manner it could have," he said. "The government is looking into the validity of those figures," however “the ban could end not so far into the future," he said.

China warns world of ‘the next Wuhan’China has warned Japan not to repeat “mistakes” it made in the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak, adding to do so would create “the next Wuhan”. The article is about Japan. Why do news orgs so often give vague headlines? It's annoying. FWIW, Singapore has more cases than Japan right now. Basing an article on a propaganda opinion piece of The Global Times is irresponsible.
