The government has offered to arrange separate energy deals with each state in an attempt to drive down power prices and improve reliability.

The Commonwealth will partner on joint projects with individual states to address their unique issues and reduce emissions.

Energy Minister Angus Taylor will outline the plan, which he called a "third path", in a speech to the UBS Australasia conference in Sydney. Mr Taylor also told states they needed to fully commit to the program, promising to only do deals with collaborative and cooperative states. Image: Getty

If you want to improve power prices(down that is) you need less thumb twiddlers this means one overall power company with prices controlled by the ACCC. What with all this new technology there are no meter readers anymore, so how come higher prices
