Fox News has apologised for airing a graphic showing how stock markets had responded after high-profile acts of violence against black men, including the assassination of Martin Luther King Jnr and the recent killing of George Floyd.

The chart appeared Friday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" and showed how markets had risen after the 1968 killing of the civil rights leader, the acquittal of police involved in the 1991 beating of Rodney King, and the deaths of teenager Michael Brown in 2014 and Mr Floyd.

The chart stirred outrage at a time when thousands of people nationwide have taken part in mass protests against racism and police brutality following the death of Floyd at the hands of a white officer.

The power of social media.

Fox news apologies, FO, they continue to stir the public as usual and create animosity. Because stupid people don't understand this and continue to read, listen and be led by the nose by Rupert, things will never change. Without media, old or new the world would by far better.

Another Great Reason to BOYCOTT MURDOCHS. FOX

Fox apologising is just as good as a Neymar Dive n roll !! 😀

I suspect Fox planned to put up the graphic and apologise. They made their racist point then washed their their hands.

Not sure why Fox News apologized. It is very useful for its viewers to have confirmed that both Murdoch and Wall Street see stock market movements as so much more important than black deaths in custody and systemic racism. BlackLivesMatter

Apology from FoxNews is interesting. They know Trump is on his last leg

F***ed up!!!!!!!!

Well that's Fox News market, right-wing Nazi loving KKK sympathisers, white supremisists members. Soon Chris Kenny, Rowen Dean and others will be wearing their uniforms on air.

All this ain’t going to end well is it?

The US is going down. I think someone from above maybe about to lose their cool.

Another half grown animals with full of hate and racism

Unfortunately the US government is big on manipulating stock markets so the confidence of the viewers/readers are not dented by social unrest. Couple this with complicit right-wing bankers happily getting bullish to spite the 'hippies' or 'plebs' protesting and you get the rally.

That makes it all better. A belated apology for a chart similar to that found in the papers of the Apartheid govt of Sth Africa in the 1980’s.

Amazing...that they actually apologise..

Fox not grasping correlation (or, more likely, coincidence) vs causation while pandering to racists; shocking.

just an FYI. 'The stock market is a graph of rich people’s feelings'

Why apoligise it is an interesting fact.
