Former NSW mining minister Ian Macdonald has angrily dismissed a claim that wealthy property developer Ron Medich organised a $10,000 cash payment to be delivered to him via an intermediary | Kate_McClymont

instructed him to give the cash payment to a named intermediary to pass on to Macdonald.

Lucky Gattellari was released from jail in December after serving a lengthy jail term for his role in the 2009 murder of Michael McGurk.Macdonald was referring to his five-month criminal trial in which his co-accused are former Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid and Obeid's middle son Moses. Macdonald also complained that Gattellari had not made these claims at a 2011 corruption inquiry and the inquiry found “there was no assistance for the Medich electrical company by my department.”
